As I have recently been moaning about not being able to attend any fashion weeks this year, my friend showed me the official LFW website to keep up with the latest news and photos from the shows. Having taken a brief look at the timeline, I came to discover that I have never heard of the majority of those designers. I decided to follow my friend's advice and go through the galleries anyway in search of new sources of inspiration. It turned out to be a great idea, since two collections immediately caught my eye.
The first collection was the one by Jasper Conran. Conran is a 52-year-old fashion designer who started his own label at the age of 19 and was among the first group of designers to show at London Fashion Week. Asked about his Autumn/Winter 2012 inspirations, he said: “The purity of cut in the archive of some of the greatest couturiers of this century has been an inspiration. The simplicity of the shape has also inspired texture in many guises." What I love about this collection is the fact that the colour palette is limited to nude, black, chocolate and grey. The application of glitter and sequins also works to its advantage- after all a woman can never have enough shine.
Anyway, I'll let the photos speak for themselves.
The whole collection can be seen here.

The second collection was the one by PPQ (Amy Molyneaux and Percy Parker). They definitely managed to capture romance while working on this collection. It took me a few decades back to the 1950s and 1980s with their elegant cocktail dresses, a wide variety of coats, embellished details and fancy accessories.
