Video Music Awards 2011.

This year's VMAs held at Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles are said to have broken ratings records, gathering over 12 million viewers. No surprise here, if we take into consideration all those attractions the organizers provided us with, from Beyonce's announcement to the debut of Lady Gaga's male alter ego.

My favourite VMA moments: Chris Brown flying in the air, Lady Gaga dressed up as a man (not many can actually pull off this look, she looked fabulous!), Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber kiss, Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas reunite and Amy Winehouse tribute.

My least favourite VMA moments: Chris Brown's failed attempt at lip-syncing, Jersey Shore girls posing- one of them sticking her butt out while the other one was holding it and finally, people dressed as if they attended the wrong event or didn't own a mirror. Or both.

Speaking of which, having gone through hundreds of pictures, I have chosen the best & the worst outfits:

Demi Lovato was lighting up the red carpet in Mandalay's metallic silver dress with plunging neckline. She decided to pair it with silver Christian Louboutin pumps. Demi was showing off her wonderful curves with pride, looking healthier and stronger than ever. Keep it up, girl!

Selena Gomez went for a black Julien Macdonald gown with a high neckline and cutouts. She finished her look with gold Brian Atwood pumps and a Judith Leiber clutch. I have a thing for longer back dresses- they are a perfect match for people with skinny, tanned legs, just like Selena.

Victoria Justice wore a low-necked silver sparkling Theia dress and glammed it up with a pair of gold Rock & Republic heels. What I really love about her is that she usually goes for natural hairstyles and make-up which gives her this fresh & youthful look.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it has recently been rather quiet about Katie Holmes. I was glad to see her on the red carpet rocking a simple, yet beautiful outfit: an Azzedine Alaia dress with a band detail, teamed with suede Proenza Schouler laceup boots. I would've probably gone for black pumps instead though.

Adele arriving at the VMAs. I am totally in love with her hairdo- it's amazing what a combination of hairspray and a curler can do. She was glowing in a black Burberry dress paired with black tights and black heels. However, I would like to see her in some brighter outfits for a change.

Adele's performance of 'Someone Like You' was completely breathtaking. She has one of the most powerful voices I have ever heard and can undoubtedly be called one of the most talented singers in the world. Not only did she amaze us with her voice, but also with her Barbara Tfank cinched-waist dress and long nude nails.

And on this note, I'm moving to three ladies that deserved an award for the worst outfits of the night...

The only thing I like about this one are leopard print pumps. A microscopic dress that shows off WAY too much is completely inappropriate for an award show. Dear Bonnie McKee, leave outrageous outfits to someone who can wear them in style because it doesn't help you. Neither does trying to look like Hayley Williams's twin sister.

I'm not sure what is the biggest tragedy in here: her trashy rainbow dress, hairstyle or terrible make-up looking as if she got attacked with a number of Crayola crayons. If I were Deena Cortese's stylist, I would start looking for another job already (considering that she has one, that is).

I have honestly never heard of Kreayshawn before and I don't feel like getting to know her in the nearest future. There is a lot of truth in the saying: 'First impression is a lasting impression'. Her dress looks like it consists of a number of different patches, desperately put all together. As if it wasn't enough, hasn't anyone told the poor girl that matching a dress with a pair of sneakers is one of the biggest fashion crimes?

Have you seen the VMAs? What were your favourite/least favourite moments?
Who do you think rocked the red carpet and whose outfit was a flop?

Take care,
xoxo Dominika.
